What is the Pigeon Conspiracy?

Many people believe that pigeons are intent on world domination, and that they will stop at nothing to get their way. This concept and the debates concerning its relevance and authenticity are commonly known as "the Pigeon Conspiracy."

The Pigeon Conspiracy first came to light on the Internet when a select group of people across the world - most of them knowledge workers in their 20s - received a series of email messages from a mysterious person called Richard Pierson. Pierson directed these users, later christened the "alpha group", to a number of websites and knowledge sources concerning pigeons, theories on collective consciousness and disastrous world events such as the First World War.

The theory developed that pigeons:
  • Are part of a huge, global, avian collective consciousness or mass mind
  • Are capable of taking control of the human subconscious
  • Are responsible for the death of millions of human beings via humans subject to their control
  • Regularly bring dangerous diseases into heavily populated cities
  • Wish to eliminate mankind from the face of the earth
After Richard Pierson issued a famous email virus called the Dove Bug, which reached approximately one billion people across the globe, the Pigeon Conspiracy went from niche to international phenomenon almost overnight. Numerous groups such as the Pigeon Resistance and People Against Pigeon Abuse sprung up, either opposed to or protective of pigeons. Governments were lobbied to destroy urban pigeon populations and several massacres saw scores of birds killed by anti-pigeon forces.

What is the purpose of PigeonConspiracy.com?

PigeonConspiracy.com was set up shortly after the spread of the Dove Bug to archive Pigeon Conspiracy news, keep track of events and provide a forum for people to exchange opinions. PigeonConspiracy.com is proud to be the original and best Pigeon Conspiracy portal.
